Charlie Blaha

Principal

As a co-founder of Blue Haven Grant Consultants, Charles (Charlie) Blaha is passionate about delivering grant funding to medical technology companies. Mr. Blaha possesses extensive experience securing grant funding and leading research and development teams commercializing medical device technologies in both academia and industry. Mr. Blaha has over 15 years of experience working in life science startup companies and academic institutions in the San Francisco Bay Area. As lead author he has secured over $13M in grant funding to advance medical technology.

Mr. Blaha has also been the principal investigator on six funded SBIR Phase I grants and three SBIR Phase II grants. Furthermore, Mr. Blaha has participated in seven SBIR nephrology and urology study sections and chaired one study section. Mr. Blaha has authored over 25 peer-reviewed manuscripts and conference abstracts as well as being a named inventor on over 5 issued patents and patent applications. Mr. Blaha holds a Bachelor of Science in biology from Denison University and a Master of Science in Bioengineering from the University of Toledo.
